Two of my most popular posts have consistently been the Anatomy of My Speech Room post (coincidentally my first!) and the follow up Visual aids, Pt 2. For two years, I was extremely fortunate to have a little space of my own. After time spent in hallways, lunchrooms, under the stairs, art rooms, and sharing a storage room with the after school program, I was just deliriously happy to be given a place to call my own for two years. I accepted a new position last school year, but shortly after made the decision to relocate permanently. I luckily found myself in a pretty good space. I share a room with a resource teacher who frequently pushes in and a teacher who is only in the building about an hour a day. I have a pretty spacious area to myself. I have no idea how many hours I spent whipping this place in to shape, not counting the full day my husband helped and the morning my mom came by and wiped down/organized materials. What I do know is that after a year of not having a space I truly loved, it's wonderful to feel at home again. Without further ado, I present my speech room makeover.
