I am not too excited about my design skills
on these, but they work. I just used
Word and Office's clip art gallery to come up
with about 20 different pictures (I use
the same one for each synonym) and
write the word below it.
It's testing week here in California, but after
a group of my upper-level kids finished their tests, I trialed the game as Go-Fish and Memory with them. They loved it and learned some synonyms in the process! One of my fifth graders named it "Go Earth," which I immediately LOVED! How cool of a game name for earth day, brought to me by one of my favorite 5th graders!!
These will be laminated later today and should be because they get damaged easily. I don't have a download for them, but thought I would share.
Some of the synonyms we targeted included: solar-sun, dirt-soil, conserve-save, power-energy, sprout-bud, branch-limb, etc. etc.! I have some similar games in the works, but thought I would share this as Sunday was Earth Day.
