My first favorite Friday item is something simple, fast, and fun for articulation therapy behavior reinforcement. With artic, it's all about the drill-work, so I use a lot of word lists (which will find themselves onto this site one day, I'm sure) that I've created.
It works best for 2-3 players, but sometimes I allow a tournament in a larger group, as we take turns drilling - so long as they play it in total silence (which can be another game, in itself).
It's definitely a good game for attention building and multi-tasking, but the kids just think it's plain FUN! I have first graders through fifth graders who have all actually become pretty awesome Blinkers. I am excited, sometimes surprised, and always proud of my lower kiddos who kick butt when playing it. The best part is... it's over in less than two minutes.
When I first bought the game, I thought it would be one of those rarely used materials that collect dust in my material cabinet, but those cards get used daily! I picked mine up at Target, but I am sure it's available online somewhere, like Amazon, for about $5-6. *
*For the record, probably because of my media background, I am always kind of - I don't know - ehhhh on blogs discussing products.... but anything I plan to feature on Favorite Fridays is because it is legitimately something I enjoy and use, without being paid to say so. If I ever do product reviews, etc. and earn some form of compensation, that will naturally be addressed in the post (which if I am right, is required by ethics or law, anyway!)
