Welcome to Heard In Speech!
I am in my third year as an elementary speech-language pathologist. I have been venturing into home health with adults lately and have found that I enjoy that area, as well. Regardless of what setting I am working in, I love making my own materials and I've been learning to share with others since at least the late '80s.

I have a pre-speech background that has given me some page layout and design knowledge and, as dorky as it is, I love using it to make activities. Most of my materials shared on here have been made on my Macbook Pro in Pages. I'm not perfect. I'm not a professional designer. I don't always write or speak in complete sentences. But I do put a lot of heart into everything I do. :]

My purpose for this site is not so much that the Internet needs another SLP materials site, but that one thing I struggle with is remembering I even have what I have. This site (with its lovely tag system) allows me to quickly access everything I have made, so this is sort of my virtual home-made materials center, which (bonus!), I will gladly share with you.

The materials on the site are intended for use by speech-language pathologists. I, of course, welcome parents, but do not suggest that these handouts alone for treatment of speech & language disorders. I most definitely do not guarantee that these activities are a cure for any speech/language disorder, but everything I do, I've based on things I've learned from the best. If you feel your child has a communication disorder, please contact an SLP in your area for services.

Here is a directory by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

Finally, I just ask that you please only use my materials for educational purposes and not for making money. Please do not post my handouts as your own, etc. etc. etc. I put a lot of time, energy, love, and probably some tears into the projects - even when they seem simple. If you would like to write about something I've done, please feel free to send me an email. Remember, cite your sources! Enjoy!
